Natural Cures and Remedies

  1. I have acne scars that are disgusting. First, they are not too severe but noticeable enough to be gross. Will they go away naturally? In order to speed up the process, I have been rubbing ice cubes on my face, and putting on a daily honey mask for about 45 minutes (to supplement my night face mask of prescribed medicine as well as antibiotics). Will natural cures work, and if so, how long will they take to reduce or remove the scars. If possible, tell me other natural solutions for reduction as well. thank you.

I have a rare form of colitis, called lymphocytic colitis. The doctors say it is in remission, but I still always feel ill, as if I am not in remission. I have tried all the medications there are. Does anyone know of a natural cure/remedy for this? Or even just for normal colitis?

Drinking several 1 ounce doses throughout the day of aloe vera juice – get at local health store. You may want to invest in the gallon containers.

Getting good strains of probiotics preferably pre-refrigerated – at local health store.

I have an ovarian cyst on my right ovary and it’s become extremely painful.
I went to the emergency room ( as I have no health insurance) and the doctors told me
they couldn’t do anything for me.

Is there a way to cure it? I fear that it will rupture, plus I’m having extremely heavy bleeding (menstrual) it’s been this way since January.

Well I’m no doctor but I do take human cellular biology in university so what I’m about to tell you probably means nothing but it’s worth a try. The cyst is swelling and the pain is caused by inflammation of the soft tissue surrounding the cyst, namely, the ovarian wall. What you need is a combination analgesic and anti-inflammatory medicine. Try these in this order from weakest to strongest:

Don’t bother with brand names, get whatever has the drug in it that costs less because they’re all the same. To help with that, I’m going to post their generic names with brand names in parenthesis in case there is no generic in the USA. Take the maximum dose that the bottles allow and if there is an extra-strength version, get it.

    1. ASA (Aspirin) – least expensive
    2. Ibuprofen (Advil, Nuprin) – moderate
    3. Naproxen Sodium (Alleve) – most expensive

If those three fail, ask your doctor if he/she will prescribe you Ketoprofen.

These drugs should reduce the swelling caused by inflammation as well as eradicating the pain. You might want to not take the ASA until your period is over because it is a natural blood-thinner and the last thing you want is to bleed more. Get them at Costco if you can because they have amazing prices on meds like that and I know for a fact that they have their own generic versions of both ASA and Ibuprofen that cost less than 1/3 what the brand-name crap costs and I can personally attest to their effectiveness (Especially the Ibuprofen) because I used them for both Mononucleosis and the pain I was in after all my wisdom teeth were extracted. (Apparently, there were complications)

This is an idea for a remedy, I have no clue about curing them. I don’t really know much about Ovarian Cysts (being male and all…lol) and being Canadian, I have no idea what surgery costs. I do know that you pay triple what I do for prescription medicine but I don’t know what you pay for off-the-shelf or over-the-counter medicine. As a result, I listed the drugs from cheapest to most expensive. Try them in that order and you’re guaranteed not to pay more than you need to. If I were you, I’d take a vacation to the UK. They’ve been known to treat non-Britons in need.

  9. I’ve been diagnosed with a hiatal hernia, swelling in part of my esophagus and GERD although I don’t suffer from heartburn too often . I am a non-smoker, not overweight and assume this has been brought on by considerable stress. At any rate, are there any natural cures that might be offered, as I’m not big on conventional meds, the side effects appear to be as damaging as the diagnosis! I will share what I have tired so far, that has not been effective…”an apple a day”, ginger tea, table spoon of honey daily, digestive enzymes, evening primrose. Any other suggestions?! You’re advice will be greatly appreciated.

I agree completely with n8ivCaliGrl but would add just one thing. Add liquid Lobelia to the warm water, just a few drops.

Lobelia is a muscle relaxer and a hiatal hernia is a kink in the esophagus, similar to the kink that can develop in a garden hose when it gets twisted. The Lobelia will relax the spasm that keeps it kinked.

Add a little massge as you drop down on your heals. Massage from high between the ribs all the way down to the belly button in one vigorous stroke as you drop.

    Good Luck!

No laser removal or waxing, upper lip threading, epilation, taking contraceptive medicine suggestions please.
And it is a serious problem in some women, do not reply with any humor please.
no bleaching too, please. Forgot to mention that.
I am looking for anything in altenative therapy. Mind you I am already epilating it and do bleaching too. I have to stick with the available options. But lloking for a permanent cure. This is not supposed to be how nature meant it to be, it is a product of modern lifestyle and low stress/stamina level.

And I am sure millions of women who face a similar problem and are using some creams, or other removal methods dont really want to spend hours doing this. Its embarrassing as well as time-consuming as well as expensive social embarassment to have.

I believe there must be some alternativeremedy, that is not available over the counter or with the allopathy physician. No offence. I want a permanent cure.

Facial hair in women is a commonly related to hormonal imbalances. When progesterone and estrogen are out of balance, testosterone levels can raise or estrogen’s effects can lessen (thereby increasing testosterone’s effect on the body) and hair growth occurs on the face (and over the rest of the body). Proper evaluation of the hormones is needed. Search online for Dr. Janet Lang. She is a Chiropractor who lectures on balancing female hormones. You will be able to contact her office for a doctor in your area to have you properly evaluated.

By the way, other problems that you are probably going through (PMS, heavy periods, cramping, thyroid problems, weight gain especially in the hips and buttocks) will be helped with proper hormone balancing as well.

  15. My 10 month old son is just miserable! he’s coughing so much his nose is runny and he has a fever every few hours. My doctor sent us on our way with nothing stating that he would get over it on his own. I can’t stand to see my son like this and was wondering if anyone knew any home remedies that might help him. I know about the humidifier, the suction bulb, and the baby vapor any other suggestions would be appreciated thanks.

  16. There is still no cure for the common cold.

Hot soup and other natural treatments may help a person to feel a bit better but they do not really speed up the curing process.

    Let me guess… dancer?

Nothing will cure it short of surgery. It’s a bone malformation. See link.

If you are looking for pain relief, try Vicks Vaporub.

  19. Is ginger tea good to cure a nervous condition ?

    Reply
  20. More often than not, nervous conditions are based on an emotional issue. To cure it will require getting to the bottom of that. You could start on your own by paying close attention and keeping a record of what is happening around you when it comes on. This should help you identify what might be setting it off.

You can treat the symptoms and make your life easier. I don’t think people necessarily respond in the same way to all, so try these and see if you get any improvement:

    - Valerian drops – starts to work in about 20 mins, and taking it regularly has a cummulative effect
    - Passiflora drops – very good for sleep improvement, more of a long-term solution
    - Cammomile tea – very mild effects
    - Deep yogic breathing and meditation – the breathing you can do anywhere, the meditation is immediate and long-term cummulative, best physical activity for helping with the underlying emotional problem.

    Good luck!
